Minneapolis rock band Copy draws together chunky guitar riffs, a vigorous rhythm section, and memorable vocal lines. Led Zeppelin and Soundgarden have parented Copy's experimentation with time signatures and indebtedness to riffology. Socially aware lyricism is also an important aspect of Copy, and in this respect songwriters Kristof Marden (bass/vocals) and Josh Grinolds (guitar/vocals) have been fathered by Fugazi and Bob Dylan respectively. Another important ingredients is Jesse Norell (guitar/vocals), who adds sugar and spice. Lastly, Kyle Bonderson (drums) mixes the sonic recipe together, e pluribus unum. Copy has been together since 1997, and has gigged the Twin Cities extensively, most notably at the 7th Street Entry, and the Fine line. It has appeared on KFAI and has been played on St. Cloud college radio. The band is currently promoting its latest release, the full length album Constitution. |
