I started drumming in 1969 quickly learned the snare drum rudiments for the 6th grade band. I got a trap set in 9th grade and soon learned the basics. I took private lessons in high school mastering the art of BeBop. I auditioned and made it into Jazz 1 my first year at the U of M, Duluth. I played with various jazz ensembles throughout college. When I graduated from UMD with a CompSci Degree my transcript showed many music classes even a quarter of theory. Since then I have played in many Church groups and Christian bands. I have also played in various bands for many weddings, class reunions and the like. I am now looking for a jazz group from trio to Big Band or maybe a CCM cover band.
